U.S. News & World Report lists Morningside College in its 2009 “Great Schools, Great Prices” category as one of the 10 Midwestern baccalaureate colleges that offer the best value for students.
The best value ranking relates a school’s academic quality to the net cost of attending the school during the 2007-2008 academic year. According to U.S. News, the best value schools are above average academically and cost considerably less than many other schools when financial aid, in the form of need-based grants and scholarships, that they dispense is taken into account.
Only schools ranked in, or near, the top half of the U.S. News America’s Best Colleges categories are considered for the best value designation. U.S. News & World Report’s 2009 college rankings also list Morningside College as one of the Midwest’s “Best Baccalaureate Colleges.” Morningside is ranked 26 out of 92 baccalaureate colleges in the Midwest.
