Morningside College was designated one of the Midwest’s “Best Baccalaureate Colleges” in U.S. News & World Report’s 2009 college rankings. Morningside ranked 26 out of 92 baccalaureate colleges in the Midwest.
This is the fifth consecutive year Morningside has been designated a “Best College” in the U.S. News rankings. U.S. News also named Morningside in its “Great Schools, Great Prices” rankings as one of the 10 Midwestern baccalaureate colleges that offer the best value for students.
The U.S. News rankings for the best baccalaureate colleges category are based on key indicators in six broad areas: peer assessment, retention and graduation rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, and alumni giving. The best value ranking relates a school’s academic quality to the net cost of attending the school during the 2007-2008 academic year.
U.S. News identifies baccalaureate colleges as institutions that focus on undergraduate education and offer a range of degree programs in the liberal arts and in professional programs such as business, nursing and education.
