Morningside College is one of the top 20 colleges in the Midwest, according to the U.S. News & World Report 2012 “Best Colleges” rankings released today. U.S. News ranks Morningside at number 20 on a list of the 97 best regional colleges in the Midwest.
This is the eighth consecutive year that U.S. News has designated Morningside a “Best College,” and it’s the highest position Morningside has held in the annual listing of America’s premier colleges. U.S. News said its 2012 rankings compare “the relative quality of institutions based on such widely accepted indicators of excellence as freshman retention and graduation rates and the strength of faculty.”
The U.S. News college rankings, which examine more than 1,500 schools nationwide, are found at www.usnews.com/colleges and in the 2012 edition of the “Best Colleges” guidebook available on newsstands September 20.
U.S. News identifies regional colleges as institutions that focus on undergraduate education, draw students primarily from nearby states and offer a range of degree programs in the liberal arts and in professional fields such as business, nursing and education.
