Beyond the Bell Youth Worker

General Description:

Under the direction of Beyond the Bell Lead Worker, Beyond the Bell Youth Workers lead Before and After school program activities for school aged students.  Youth workers are also utilized during the Beyond the Bell summer program.  The Youth Worker position requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with school aged children.

Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED

Experience working with school age children

Current adult, child and infant CPR certification

Current Mandatory Reporting certificate

Must meet State of Iowa licensing requirements in education, experience and training

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience working with school aged children and meet or be wiling to develop the minimum state licensing qualifications within 2 months of employment.

Responsibilities:

Recruit students for before and after school programs

Supervise school aged children

Attend scheduled staff meetings

Lead students in planned program activities

Promote a positive, professional and respectful program environment

Seeks out and works with volunteers

Establish a strong professional relationship with custodial staff

Maintains clean site

Maintains safe environment

Maintain frequent communication between: Lead worker, parents and school staff

Maintain student discipline: hande disciplinary issues that arise in programs, report and record any negative student behavior, and address conflict and promote mediation

Other duties as assigned.

Work 20-25 hours per week before and after school.  Wages start at $7.50 per hour & $8.50 per hour.  Feel free to call our offices anytime from 8am-6pm.  We look forward to hearing from you.
